yeah i got pissed off when i sprayed my ITR which i paid 35 dollars CANADIAN which is a god-damned lot of cash! with chrome spray paint from testor's, i sprayed my light base coat, etc etc, then i touched it with my thumb and the grease from my thumb totally bugged up the roof.......so then i chopped the roof after many deliberation's....i sprayed clear coat ontop to see if it would protect my paint, all it did was thin it out! now i've got a super ugly paint job on my itr and my decal's and shiznit are already in place........it's too late........im really angry now........what made me even more pissed off, is the fact i loaned my "friend" 100 buck's till yesterday when he got paid, the asshole went and spent all his money on getting drunk on the weekend and his cheap sleazy girlfriend who never leave's him alone, now im flat broke without any fund's to even pay for gas in my car, my credit card is maxed out because of my car (boingo, i got my cavalier back but i had to buy new part's for it as insurance woul dnt pay for them, my rim's and front bumper which was addon.......i did not inform insurance that i got those) .........for those of you which are wondering what happens to my car? some woman in a 4x4 off road dodge ram drove over top my car, squashed the f ront of it FLAt as she dr ove over it with both wheel's and proceeded to drive away like she didnt notice!!.........my wheels were squashed to the pavement and then scr aped sideway's........the stupid insurance company didnt even write it off, they gave me mo ney to repair it (dumfuks!)......anyway's............im out now gotta go do something entertaining (porn), cya'lls l 8r

1) I dropped glue on the trunk lid of a perfectly polished Coutach with a complete engine detail and interior.
2) I used a wrong (taller) screw to fix the inner door panel of Fujimi Diablo, leaving a bump on the left side door.
Both require total repainting...

haha man.. modelling sucks sometimes..

dammit, i'm not gonna repaint , dammit then i tried to to clear coat the hood and it hazed again... dammit why!!! it's not that dam humid..

dam automotive sprays are not consistent i swear!! same bottle even.

oh well.. i think polishing will take care of it.

1.) Didn't mask enough when spraying black onto my already-Ferrari Red mythos. As a result got lots of black overspray onto sections that had to be taken off with isopropyl alcohol...future had to be reapplied..still is very bumpy in places.

2.) Attempted to paint black lines on 300ZX with paint brush, no masking (ouch!!)

3.) Dad picked up my bike and somehow managed to make the lower cowl fall into pieces, which I had to reassemble

I could go on for days :) :( :p

i topped all of you i painted a car pearlesent grey(custon mixed in a spraypaint can 25.00usd) on a car that i forgot to sand the rear area i tossed the car and decided to spray the same car different amount of work with no primer(you can guess what happened after that) the third time i got it right but the the car got stolen at a show all this happened in 2 months

the car was a 49 merc

to me the fourth time is a charm this one came out absolutely perfect.

NO, i beat all you guys. Up until finding this forum, I never used primer, and I used 1 coat of generic spray paint. Only shook the can for 5 seconds, sprayed on heavily in certain spots. And then I used 150 grit sandpaper to remove paint from my messed up models!

HA!

that's not that bad... back then i didn't know of spray cans or airbrushes.... try hand-painting a car body and wonder why it doesn't look as nice as other people's models and get all frustrated trying to make the paint job look nice... hahahaha :p

Broke the windshield right down the middle on a completely done Nissan Primera (Calsonic) when I was installing it. This was the last thing I had to do (I had already done the black trim on the glass!). Pissed, pissed, pissed. Sometimes I just want to grab all of my stuff and set it on fire so it burns into a large black lump of plastic. Then I'll be satisfied. :newburn:

If you saw the carpet in my old bedroom, you'd see my frustrations. When I was about 13, I tryed spray painting my models on the carpet. Not only is it stupid to do that, but I didn't use hardly any newspaper. I've spilled paint plenty of times on the carpet as well. At least I don't sleep in that room anymore, plus I'm going to college in a year, so I don't even care about it anymore. Besides, we're going to get carpet added one day, so I might as well mess it up as much as possible.:D

now I know something:
#1:never spray paint on windy day beside your little cousin sand bac
#2:never spray paint in your garage on winter time the paint the paint seem to be dry but it's iced out
#3:never spill salt on a rfesh paint job(sister accident dont like her anymore)
#4: No glue tube on the floor the cat play with it and it's tail have glue all over (same thing for the paint)
#5:never never strip paint with paint thinner

all these thing are shity appening to me
me not lucky same as the other not lucky guy

P-man, you must think I'm the worst for ruining the king of all car models, the Nissan Primera (or the Infinity G20 as we call it). Of all the kinds I could have fuct up, it had to be that one! Maybe you can help me though. I called Tamiya for a replacement, but no luck b/c its out of production. I have it assembled with Evergreen clear styrene sheet windows. I looks pretty good except for the fact the black trim isn't there. Do you know where I can get an actual replacement? Maybe you might have one laying around (that you would be willing to ship around the world to me)? Please help me make my life complete again. Thanks.:(

here's my frustration, you know how dremel is supposed to have like a million and one uses? well polishing paint is not one of them. I tried it on a lacquer paint job and it worked well for the first 10 seconds, then the heat started building up and the paint turned to putty! not only that but the heat melted a portion of the body too so had to do some putty work as well

haha thanks BRI~!!!

i was thinking about using one too
that would be fast fast fast for polishing!!

Yeah, dremels or pretty much only good for cutting, drilling, and some sanding. And thos stupid handpieces can be awkward..... for polishing, I use my moms rotary drill that she uses for doing nails, its torque sensitive so when you set it on a low speed, it the torque and speed increases when you apply even the slightest pressure to anything, works wonders for polishing paint...... It even has a soft lambskin buffing head(pictured with hanpdpiece) that so far, works better than any polishing cloth Ive ever tried...

You guys know how the Irridescent paint comes in a 3 step process. Flat black, the color changing paint, and then the clear. Well on my ITR, the one in the gallery, I did the flat black. Then I did the color changing paint, it was beautiful, almost perfect. Let it sit for a bit and everything, the car was just gorgeous. I went to grab the clear to start with the clear coat and grabbed the flat black. :( There was flat black all the way down one side of the car, I almost cried. That's the last time I leave all of the caps off of my cans.

Why???

Because it dissolves the plastic and totally ruins it! But, if you're careful you can do it.

I've removed several enamel paint jobs that I screwed up with the body bathed in paint thinner. I don't recommend this method on fully cured enamel paint jobs!

THIS APPLIES TO ENAMEL PAINT JOBS THAT ARE STILL SOFT ENOUGH TO PUT A GROOVE IN WHEN RUBBED WITH YOUR FINGERNAIL.

Don't immerse completely in thinner though. Only immerse about halfway and use a rag to bathe the body with the solvent. The paint should start running off the body after several minutes. When most of the paint is completely off the main areas, use a toothbrush with light pressure to clean off panel lines. By now remove the body and dab off excess with a paper towel/ rag. You can still clean the remaining paint off with the thinner soaked rag. Be carefull as the window pillars are usually kinda fragile at this point. Wash the body off with soap and check for residual paint. If there is left over paint-which should be fairly thin, you can remove with a cotton ball/ cotton swab soaked with paint thinner. From here let the body sit for a few hours so the solvents can evaporate from the plastic. Try to keep in a warm place ( not above 100 degrees). From here you can prep the body the same way you would normally would. Hope this helps for you guys wondering about removing ENAMEL paints.

Well, for me, the most frustrating part is getting the models in the first place  .

But also, I had just nearly finished the body of my Calsonic R33 Skyline and I was fitting the windows, sure enough I got glue on one of them. I tryed to use a bit of water and a cloth to wash it off, but it just moved the glue and the plastic with it. Well, now there is one in the mail from Japan for me. Ohh yea... and when I bought the kit, the wheels weren't in there ;) . (So they are on the way over from Japan too) :D

im out now gotta go do something entertaining (porn),

I think I might join you :p

I beat all you: every damn model I've done is cursed. Ive done 2 ITRs, both FUBAR, and RX7 R1, suspension destroyed, JZX100 Chaser with a fucked up paintjob(NEVER use Testors spray, goes on waaaay to thick), and now my R33 suspension is completely messed, and my gorgeous pearl white paintjob has dust and overspray EVERYWHERE.

I'am cursed :zx11pisse

My worst recent (I've done so many I don't want to remember) modeling moment? How about finishing-up the paint job on a car that you painted with custom-made paint, big dollar vari-prime primer, polishing the daylights out of, and then break the A-pillar right at the base as your finishing a commissioned $3,500.00 model?? Look really close at the driver's side bottom corner of the 2nd ZL1 Camaro I have in the gallery, I don't think the owner ever noticed but I almost had a nervous breakdown!!
