Ravin Z55 muffler (Needed)manwiththeplan88 04-12-2006, 04:15 PM I have been considering the ravin z55 muffler since it sounds so great but I can't get any in the midas locations in my area, they were all discontinued, none on ebay either. Does anyone have a ravin z55 muffler for sale? If not what would be the second best option for a muffler, I don't want the muffler to be so loud I get a ticket but id like for it to have a nice rumble to it. Need one for cheap price. 1997 Blazer LS 4dr 180,000. BlazerLT 04-12-2006, 10:50 PM From what I have heard, Vortex took over the design. They sell them at Autozone and Advanced Auto Parts. Try Ebay for a Flo-Pro. manwiththeplan88 04-20-2006, 03:14 PM So which kind of flowmaster is the closest sounding to the Ravin Z55/would sound best on my blazer, the 40 series or 50 series? And whats the difference between the Ravin Z55 and vortex? BlazerLT 04-20-2006, 05:31 PM Dont go with a Flowmaster, they really restrict flow do to the chambering and baffles. Vortex is practically the same as Ravin. I think they bought them out. manwiththeplan88 04-21-2006, 03:07 PM Just to let everyone know, on the 1997 LS blazer the muffler needs to be an offset inlet and center outlet, not the other way around. manwiththeplan88 04-24-2006, 06:54 PM I just got my new muffler and against LT's warning I got Flowmaster. I have never been so happy and so satisfied with an add on to my truck. The sound is amazing and I have no regrets. The throttle response is also way better. But the best thing of all was how much I paid for the muffler with installation, $70. I got the muffler for $70 which was originally $100 and the installation was free. I am a student at an automotive school and my instructor gets extremely good discounts and I didn't have to pay tax on top of that. The installation was free because I had a friend help me put it on during class. The old monster of a muffler was twice the size of the new flowmaster muffler so I had to do some adjustments. I don't know how to record soundclips of it or know if I have any device for recording it, so if anyone has suggestions as to what I can use to record the sound I will get the clips right up. I definately recommend the flowmaster to anyone with a blazer. muzzy1maniac 04-25-2006, 12:49 AM http://search.stores.ebay.com/surplus-liquidators_ravin_W0QQfcdZ2QQfciZQ2d1QQfclZ3QQfrom ZR10QQfsnZsurplusQ20liquidatorsQQfsooZ1QQfsopZ1QQf tsZ2QQsaselZ307036652QQsofpZ0 s10blazerman4x4 04-25-2006, 12:55 AM Nice find.
