I am interested in the 2007 Camry, V6. The 6 cyl is similar to whats in the new Avalon. The Camry V6 has a 10.8 to 1 compression ratio. I haven't seen it stated in the Toyota add's, but I assume it runs on premium gas only. Do the Avalon owners use premium gas? I'm curious? TIA

It's recommended directly from Toyota. Read the Avalon's manual and it'll state that it requires Premium for it. All Avalons are powered by the 265 hp V6.

I read the Consumers Report on Toyota Avalon, it says it needs "Regular Unleaded" gas. Is this info wrong?

I have an 06, and i have used nothing but regular. the manual states that for maximum performance, premium may be used.

i HAVE AN 07 Avalon and was concerned about the same thing, which gas to use....I finally called Toyota for an answer and here is what they told me... You can run unleaded regular (87 Octane) and it won't hurt a thing.. However... if you want the best performance and gas mileage, it is recommended that you use a fuel with an octane rating of 92 or higher... i'VE been using premium fuel and I've noticed that just driving back and forth to work and short visits into town, without the a/c, I am averaging about 27.5 mpg.
