Hi guys, this is my first thread in here and I'm interested in seeing what cars you people would chose to drive at the Gumball 3000, provided you had the means ($$$) necessary to race it.

Chose whatever car you want to, but don't forget that it's race and you'll be trying to win, not only to show off.

Thanks in advance.

I'll start. :D

My first option would be a Porsche 911 turbo, fast, reliable, and good enough for me to show off. Another excellent option would be a Ferrari 360 Modena (although it is very common in the Gumball = no showing off).

What do you have in mind guys?

yeah man, fo sho
I would actaully chose something like the M5 or the RS6, These cars wouldn't be stock though. and a cop wouldn't suspect a sedan at all.

Yeah, when it was stopped. But as soon as it started moving, you wouldn't be able to see it well enough for it to draw attention.

Yeah can u say 186MPH in less than 14sec and a top speed more than 250mph with 7 sequential gears and 16 cylinders quad turbo's behind you pushing 1000HP through all wheel drive. Mclearn F1 bye bye. Police cars Bye bye. Police Helicopters bye bye too.

Too bad when they block off the ROAD and lay down spike strips or even electroically imobilze your car w/an EMP (if they get that close)...all that 1000HP dont mean absolutely anything...you cant fly over cars nor can you run over them in a Bugatti.

BUSTED!

You can never outrun a radio...the cop doesnt even need to get a good look at you..just says....some fast car coming your way...block of the road...

Well if you were James Bond, you could take the underwater route in an Espirit. :D But do they really use EMPs?

LOL how about u give me one of those buggatti and try to catch me and see if all what u stated above will work LOL. The police men will be looking at the car opening their mouths at how pretty this car is. Are u a police man by any chance?

Actually, it will work. If you hit some spike strips at 250 MPH, your f*cked, end of story.

Give you a Bugatti? What makes you think I have one...lol...much less give you one? Besides I think you give cops alot less credit than you should...most cops are dumb but not all of them...if you were at point A w/me...I just have to radio ahead to like 2 miles ahead to some cops and then can block of the whole road...w/their cars and what they cannot w/spike strips.

YellowMaranello...the EMPs are shot under the cars and the disable the ignition...not positive if they actually use it...I think not...but it exists...might just be too expensive for most police forces

No doubt its too expensive to use that often. So does that mean that the ultimate getaway vehicle would be a diesel, as they don't need sparkplugs?

A VW Beetle TDi is not exactly what I pictured in the statement "Ultimate Getaway Vehicle"

No one would expect it until it's too late, and you could drive it into the back of a small truck, like Knight Rider.

in the last gumball race was a koenigsegg, i think the cc8!
