hey guys, i was just wanting to know what kind of mods would you put on a 85 non-turbo 13B engine if you only had $1000 to spend and you wanted to gain as much horsepower as possible........ also i have no intentions of using NOS so please don't include it. thanks a lot for your help!!!

part links are appreciated too!!! ^_^

I would do intake and hedders (full exhaust if you can.) that'll give you somewhere around 30-40 extra horses.

You can make the car quicker for free. Just remove weight from the car. Other than that you are VERY limited in what you can do with the car. $1000 is not really enough to get you a full port job which would net you the biggest power gains.
After weight reduction look at simple things, custom made cold air intake (often able to build your own for really cheap, just visit your local hardwear store)
Exhaust (custom made applications from muffler shops are far cheaper than pre-made units)

After that there is really not much you can do. Budget perfomance mods are a no no. Just cost you more later on. Id save your money and use it later when you have more money to spend on it and still have stuff left over.
