BCM and jump start problem??? help

I took my 02 Rendezvous to Walmart for oil and filter (we're not so mechanically inclined) and upon pickup, I turned the ignition and got "security" and "service engine" lights on dash. In the bay, I was told the vehicle "wouldn't start" which NEVER has happened to me... and they jumped it. THey checked the battery power and alternator readings and the battery was a little low (11.4 or so I think) and alt. was 14. The radio said "locked" and all electricals in car were dead except ignition.

... To the dealership... $480 later, they replaced a "completely dead" BCM and said there was no way to prove a smoking gun, but it was likely that Walmart hooked up the battery backwards or something to jump it off. Now Walmart says their jump box won't work if you connect it backwards - IS THIS POSSIBLE? Any advice or feedback on this stuff would be GREAT!!

Hey! I am having problems with my lights going on and off, the speedomitor gage goes from 40 (while driving ) down to 0.. My door locks lock and unlock the windows and the hatch go nuts... My car has now decided not to start.. it has to be unhooked and reset everytime I want to drive my car. We are well aware of it being the BCM.. Body control Module..
There has to be 5000 complaints of the same issue in order for Buick to put out a recall on the BCM. So If anyone has this exact problem, please feel free to email me, with your name and the dealer you baught your car.. if we can get enough to prove it should be recalled why not attempt it?
