I have an 88 and the passenger door is broke. It will open sometimes but you have to pull the handle up real slow and straight up but it only works like 1/10 times. The passenger side wiper also will not work properly it goes up half way sometimes or just barely moves at all. Sometimes it works for a few wipes then starts making a loud thud on the bottom of the windshield and barely moves up. Anyone had these problems? Any easy solutions?

Can't really help with the door handle, but GM does not always make a good one. However have never had troubles with any of our Berettas or Corsica. On the wiper though it sounds like it may be stripped out. A friend of ours has an 89 and one morning he started it with heavy frost and ice on the windshield and one of the wiper holders stripped out. As I remember it removes easy enough with only one bolt. It has "teeth" that hold it on to a spline that turns and if the teeth get stripped off it will sit there or jerk etc. try that first. Remove the holder assy and see if it looks like it has done this. Not sure where else to look for trouble but maybe someone else can help. Getting back to the door problem, might try to remove the door panel and spray some good lube in there. Might just have corroded parts causing problems.
