Troubleshooting a 94 Camry wiper problem

My Camry has three settings for the wiper speed selection arm (located on the steering colum).
My windshield wipers will 'occasionaly' fail to sweep on low or intermittent.
Moving the wiper arm to high and then back will always restore full function (though sometimes only for a few sweeps).
The high speed setting has never had a problem.

I unplugged the electric harness on the wiper motor and sprayed WD40 on male and female contacts. I searched the harness for obvious damage.

It seems as though my problem is related to the low speed circuit to the wiper motor. But I don't know if any parts other than the entire wiper motor assembly can be repaired or replaced?

Is there a connection or part to check for failure? Are there any replacement parts in the wiper circuit? I would like to know where to look.

Help!

Start by downloading the 94 Camry maintenance manual at the top of this forum. It tells you what you need to know about every system and includes schematics. You can check your wiper switch at the connector half way down the steering column. At intermittent you should have continuity between pins 7 and 16. At low it's pins 7 and 17. Disconnect the battery so you don't blow an airbag.

Thanks RIP,

I now have the repair manual and will try to follow along with the checks. It's always a joy to find an intermittent electrical problem.
