intermittent starting problemcarlqx4 04-09-2006, 08:21 AM plsss help me. dealership couldnt figure out what is causing this to my 2002 infinity qx4 auto trans with 63000 miles. it cranks and turnover my engine slowly, sometimes it starts but sometimes it doesnt. but if i turn my ignition off it always starts right away and it doesnt matter if my engine is cold or warm nor after long or short distance trip. i took it to dealership and they did not encounter my starting problem after many tries, my battery and alternator are good, new air and fuel filters, scanned my on board computer no code error found. anybody there had experienced the same, noticed people here in this forum are smarter than those experts they call at the dealership. pllssss helllp. FixUrNissan 04-09-2006, 10:28 AM Long crank? hmm passably fuel pump can be causing it, as you crank it is possible that fuel pressure is taking to long to build thats why it take so long. Oh another idea , Engine turns over slow, Poss bad Engine Ground. High Resistance in the engine Ground i have seen cause some slow hard start problems.. Some things you can look into , Hope it helps OKSuz 04-09-2006, 11:25 PM I have had the same probelm with my '02 Pathfinder. It has 43,000 miles, and occasionally, it won't start when I turn the key. Then, if I turn the key off and try again, it starts right away. If I try to start it too soon, it makes a terrible grinding noise. One thing that I can say that I have found it that if I will put in the key, and let it sit in the ignition for a while before trying to start, it has always started fine. It seems that it happens when I jump in, throw the key in and try to start it right away. Could it have something to do with the "chip" key? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
