:banghead: Has any body replace the heater core on there Crown Vic?
what parts do I have to remove?
I am replacing mine because it's leaking, I took a couple of parts out but I don't have enough space to take that sucker out it looks like the entire dashboard has to be remove.

I have never done one but a guy at work mis diagnosed one and changed one(dumb ass) wound up being manifold leaking. I think he had to pull the dash but also it was in a cop car so he had to move the console/computer out of the way. I would make sure its leaking before I tackled it.

There is enough room to remove it if you loosen all the dash and roll it up to the windshield. The heater box will roll out under it. It is tight, but it can be done. Or, you will have to remove the dash. Good luck. Either way, it is not fun.

It was not fun at all, I had to remove the front seats in order to remove the plastic part that runs on the bottom of the carpet that let's air for the passengers in the back, I had to remove that because it wasn't letting go off the heater core housing I also had to remove every nut and bolt that holds the dash and steering wheel.
:banghead:
I DID NOT HAD TO TAKE THE DASH AND STEERING ALL THE WAY OUT I JUST HAD TO LET IT HANG ALSO THE HEATER CORE HOUNSING BUT I DID HAD TO REMOVE THE PASSENGER AIR BAG AND A PLASTIC TUBE THAT WAS ON MY WAY IN ORDER TO TAKE THE HEATER CORE OUT.
:crying:
If you ever have to fix one I will recommend not to do it yourself you will need help picking up and putting the dash and steering wheel back to it's place
ANY QUESTIONS JUST REPLY IF YOU EVER NEED INFO THAT WILL HELP

And don't forget the dreaded air blend motor, which controls the temperature and is on top of the duct in that general area. When I replaced that, several people told me to replace the heater core at the same time to be on the safe side.
I moved the dash straight back and supported it and the steering column with solid boxes, etc. I spent a large part of the time fighting a clip nut that was keeping the duct in place.
You can't close the doors while it is apart.
