I have a 1996 primera 1.6 sri, when i bought it there was a remote fob on the set of keys which didnt work, i put a new battery in but still nothing. It is a Lucas 3TXA. The drivers door lock feels like it hasnt been used much indicating it has used previous remote locking.
I have tried various methods from the internet for programming it but have had no luck so far, can anybody help?

You will need to take it to the main dealer to be programed. no other way
