I had a problem with my radiator fan turning on and it turned out that my thermostat was bad... after fixing that there wasn't any fan issues.

For me it was a clogged radiator. The fan would cool off the limited amount of coolant in the radiator quickly, but since the radiator had a limited capacity, my car ran hot.
Need to identify the real problem. Does the fan turn on? Is the thermo switch that controls the fan good? Is the fan motor good? Is the cooling system free from obstructions? Is coolant being circulated? Is the cooling system full? Are the radiator fins clean, free from obstructions like leaves and bugs?
If you want to install a manual over ride switch for the fan. Run a couple of wires to the thermoswitch.
