1994 Silverado, Bad VibrationJROB46 04-04-2006, 07:51 PM I am having some serious vibration in the front end. The whole front of the truck, the steering wheel and dash board shake like hell between 65- 80 MPH. Under 60 it is faint, over 80 it is smooth(until I let my foot off the gas). I have just put on new tires, an alingnment(after putting on new pitman arm and tie rods), new wheel bearings and brakes. The vibration did not get any better(actually feels worse). Any suggestions as to what else it could be? Thanks in advance for any help. maxwedge 04-04-2006, 07:55 PM Check drive shaft u joints. JROB46 04-04-2006, 08:37 PM Thanks for the reply. I don't think it is the u-joints. I just replaced them about 8 months ago. The vibration is a recent developement. I did check them again and all seems good and tight, no slop. Thanks again. gmtech79 04-04-2006, 08:50 PM You also need to completely remove the shaft and turn the u-joints by hand and feel for roughness. I would check the tire balance again and do a road force balance even. I have seen brand new tires be bad. JROB46 04-06-2006, 08:38 PM I removed the drive shaft and the u-joints feel good. Just like new. I just had new tires put on the day before my post. The alignment was done the same day too. Can you think of anything else it may be? Thanks again for your time. gmtech79 04-06-2006, 09:30 PM I'm guessing this is a 2 wheel drive? JROB46 04-06-2006, 10:32 PM Yes it is a 2 wheel drive, with a 4spd with OD manual trans.Sorry I didn't mention that sooner.Any thoughts? kid7688 08-26-2009, 04:39 PM i know your post was a long time ago hope it was the balance of the tires if you put a new set on let me know what the solution was and where you had your work done PIT BULL PAPA 12-02-2009, 10:58 AM i had the same problem the sway bar was broke. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
