:screwy: We got a good ol fashion survey. Very curious to know what year, miles, and most importantly what you paid for your crown vic. Is it police interceptor? Any problems? Trying to get a feel for how much it may run me.:feedback:

Purchased one 1993 P71 03-03-06 84k miles, very rough interior, ran great, seven antenna holes on trunk and roof paid $1675. Bought second 2000 P71 03-28-06 140k miles, great interior runs good, seven antenna holes in roof paid $2225. Try site Public Surplus.com. Both were bought blind, photo posts only. Sold the 1993 already $2200, too ugly!

bought a '99 CVP71 that is bi-fuel propane/gasoline from CNGMOTORS.com on 3-1-06 for $5250. It had 104K miles, no cage, has cloth back seat vs. vinyl, no holes in roof, just 2 in trunk that had rubber stoppers already installed, crusie and radio has cassette. Must be a supervisor's car cause its nice. Dark green ext. Nothing tore up or missing. No spotlight--would like that. I may put 2 antennas on the trunk to complete the "cop" appearance.
I did have to have the regulator rebuilt ($79). Other than that, I'm cruizin down the road waving at cops for $1.44/gal, currently getting 19 MPG! And laughing at everyone who's paying $2.45/gal for regular here in Oklahoma!
BTW, Murphy has a 99 dedicated CNG CVPI on his website. CNG is usually even cheaper than propane! If you buy anything, tell him Alan from Oklahoma referred you; I think I might get a referal bonus of some kind, not sure, but I was very satisfied! He even paid for the regulator, which started acting up on me halfway home from Pheonix. Well, there's my plug for alternative fuel and CNGMotors.

Have bought 2 (one DK Green , one Silver) 1999 CVPI, 90k on both, with dress appearance packages. Factory AM/FM cassette radios (added on, not installed at factory) no spots, only 2 holes in trunk lids for $3,000.00 and $3,500.00 now just 2 years ago. My guess is the owners/users wanted a new cars, because they actually put bad parts on the car to make it run bad, causing it to go to auction. BTW CNG cars are usually much better mechanically, CNG is a cleaner burning fuel.

1997 Crown vic LX fully loaded with every option possible for 97. Payed 5k cash like 3 years ago or so. It has just rolled over 180k miles, and runs like a champ. Ive had several problems (steering/interior mostly), but i still say its a good car. Me and the old lady have givin it a bunch of shit, and its held together. Im about ready to sell it, and when i do i will miss it i guess. It kinda grew on me cause it rides so smooth.

1997 CV, P71, 113,000, bought at auction, so I am only the second owner since it was built, price just under $2300. This car was a Captains take home car, no cage, no lights, no holes anywhere.

Did i spend to much or what? it was 5k cash for fully loaded LX with 100K miles on the clock. Ive had it three years. It has all options except air suspension, wich i didnt want anyways. The condition was almost perfect, did the seller see me coming or was that a fair deal?

I got my 93' vic for $2,300 .it's got 36,000 mi. perfect shape, a few stains on int. may need rebuild on trainny. so far i'v e spent about $350 on window tint, killer dual muffler setup, synthetic oil. Crown Vic's have a low resale value so u can get one pretty cheap.

97 PI - 230K
Bought it off of an ex-officer who went into taxi service. He bought it at auction for cheap and I took it off him for $300.00. Picked it up as a simple transport/restoration project. It may need work but I love it.
Was full police conversion but they reverted it at auction. Still has all hookups and mounts for the equipment.
Underbody rust is bad (next year), had to recondition the oilpan for rusted 1/4" hole (sanding and sealing myself $25.00), trans ok (replaced cooling lines $110.00), engine ok (normal oil issues for the model), steering needs repair/replace (very loose), replaced (plugs, wires, filters) $175.00, driver seat needs to go (rusted out frame), minor electrical issues with driver door panel, replaced wiper trans $145.00.
Jon
Looking for parts:
Drivers door control panel
Glove box (entire or just locking mech + key)

1996 Crown Victoria P71 for $500. NOT A TYPO! Five Hundred dollars. 140k miles but the engine had a pinging sound at idle. I swapped the motor with a Ford Mustang Cobra 4.6L but kept the police chip for the gearing ratio. The new engine cost me $800 and it only has 10k on it. The car is very clean. One antenna hole in the trunk. One hole on the roof. There are 4 screw holes next to the Trunk Release button for a Radio Mic (I'm assuming). Very clean car. My only issue is the blank spot on the front doors where the emblem used to be. The molding for each door is $120 from Ford. That's just for the two inch molding and not the three and half, with chrome insert, that comes stock on the civilian models. I love this car. It's pretty cool to see a line of cars behind me because no one will pass. Any info on where I can get the molding for cheaper would be great.

Very good product for removing almost anything like that, or masking/duct tape remanants, It won't damage the paint in most cases (my cheap disclaimer!) and works quickly with little rubbing. I think you can get it at Wal-Mart and most hardware stores. Good Luck

Ha, no no no. Its not that at all. He told me that there was nothing wrong with teh tranny when I bought it. It ran great first day, started slipping, then got to where I was mashing the pedal to get it to the mechanic at 15 mph. Opened teh crancase and the mechanic said he used some sort of tranny additive or brake fluid to get a few days so I coulnt return it after the 3rd day for a refund. Im just a dummy. :)

I think your mechanic is a dummy. Sounds like he did the worse thing possible.
There is NO MECHANIC IN A BOTTLE......
I have been driving and working on theses car for 5 years now, And your mechanic needs to stop poppin bottles and start turning wrenches.

No, haha, sorry if that came out wrong. The guy who sold it to me poured stuff in to buy a few days for me, because after # days we cant return cars from private buyers. The mechanic replaced my tranny. Thats all. :)

1999 CVPI. No holes. No lights bar was installed. Lights were in the grill.
Street appearance: silver. 118K miles Was on a very strict preventative maintenance program in NC. Probably a supervisor's car. 4.6L interceptor package. Gorgeous engine inside & out. Perfect body & paint. No interior holes. Runs perfect. I paid $4,200.

When I got my 2000 Police interceptor about two or three years ago, It had 94K miles on it and I got it for $1,100. It ran good but the outside had one minor dent, some paint damage due to prisoners using razor blades to remove decals and the inside was very dirty. The only problem I have had was with the factory oil cooler so I removed it and have had no problems ever since.

1995 P71, 212,000 miles, cosmetically pretty rough but seems to run great, paid $450 last Friday. Probably should have got it for less but it was a young single mom who needed the money and I didn't have the heart to haggle with her.

95/not sure on the miles, over 150k/$300
bought it from an older lady who's son passed away, she was tired of seeing it, had quite a few small problems, but now runs great, less than $500 in parts later, i'm turning it into a dirt track racer, should be awesome
