99 passat 1.8t. How can i test if my position sensor is good? I measured with ignition off on the connector

between pin 1 (+) and GND .68K ohms
between pin 2 (0) and GND 8.5K ohms
between pin 3 (-) and GND 0 ohms

With ignition on the voltage across pins 1 and 3 was 5VDC
and between pin3 an GND there was some resistance noticable.

Also, between any pins on the sensor the resistance was "open."

Any ideas?

...also I would like to add that when the motor is cold (alarm reset), everything is good, as soon as the arrow starts coming up (third line in water temp), then the alarm is being generated for p1338. I am thinking that the transistor, which is usually made up of silicone, is giving up due to higher temperature. Anybody has some ideas?
