Rodeo V-6 Engine blown

04-03-2006, 09:26 AM
A buddy had his 2001 Rodeo Sport Amigo V-6 blow. I don't know the specifics, but have been told the water pump cut loose and then the timing belt was gone. I assume the belt replacement interval was 75 or 100K and wondered if anyone else had a similar experience. Does anyone have knowlledge of Isuzu's warranty and whether they have been helping with engines that blow well in advance of the belt change interval or close to warranty running out?

lol jongsi
this engine in question is by Isuzu considered as an interfenence engine
but it wont happen
if the water pump gave out its not a timing belt problem
sounds like it needs a waterpump and timiing belt
if person in question is the original owner of the vehicle then said waterpump is covered under 10yr 100,000 mile powrtrain warranty
do not under any circumsatnces try to repair this yourself and DO NOT take it to an independent shop
if your local dealer says it is not covered tell them to look up warranty coverage on the pump I am an Isuzu tech and I know whats covered and whats not if I am ever in doubt I cna look it up
