Hey, I think my fuel pump is acting up. Will explain symptoms later when I have time but just for now I wanted to know where the pump is. Is it one of those like the older ones that slips into the gas tank or is it external? I looked online and found 1 pic but wasn't sure if it was a filter or the pump.

This escort has always had an issue with bogging down. The only time it would really do it is when backing out of the parking spot where it's parked and it is on a little bit a incline so when backing out I give very minimal throttle and it bogs then gets throttle and keeps doing that unless I take my foot of the pedal. I always thought it was the fuel pump but never needed to do anything about it. A few days ago I was on my way home and sitting in some traffic it started to stall. It wasn't serious but it never did that before. It would do it for a few seconds and then be fine for the rest of the drive. And also when moving very slowly while being stopped in traffic I would apply the throttle very slightly just to move a two feet or so and it felt like it wasn't responding at all and then it would wake up and realize that I had pressed the pedal. This scared me because I thought something was wrong with the transmission. Hopefully that gives a little detail to what is going on. The plugs and wires were changed not too long ago and it fires up better than the new camry. Anyone have any suggestions on what to do?

Slowly started to happen again. Anyone know how much the whole pcv assembly costs?

I have very much the same problem. I was told that it might be the air flow meter. I haven't replaced it yet because it's like $100 and I'm not sure that it's the problem. I think I'm going to take it tho the Ford dealer next week.
