CD Player will not read ANY CDsTeacherYorch 03-30-2006, 04:56 PM I bought a 2001 Nissan Xterra about a year ago. The thing is that the SUV is in EXCELLENT conditions except for the CD Reader. Couple of months ago the CD Player stopped reading CDs, doesn't matter if they are original, CD-R, or CD-RW. The radio just takes in the CDs, spins a while and then ejects them. This occurs with both SUVs. What is wrong? How can I fix this? ----- Also, I have an Alpine CHM-S620 6Disc CD Changer with its cartridge, just that, no cables. I had it in my old Ford Escort [huge change for me to Xterra]. Can I install it without a problem or would I need to get a specific type of CD Changer ? bwb83 03-31-2006, 01:26 PM The reader could be off balance and tries to read the cd's but rejects them. It can be fixed if thats the case but you have to tear apart the whole thing and take it to a specialist; and theyre almost impossible to find. Your best bet may be just to find another factory headunit to replace the one you have. Is your cd changer FM modulated? If so it will work with any radio that recieves FM frequencys. If it runs off manufacturer-specific cables to operate you have to have that exact type of cable. To get them try finding an electronics store that sells similar products that may have them. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
