K20A Type 'iS' Long Block Questions93CivicSiD16HB 03-29-2006, 08:05 PM I've found an engine to swap in and i was wondering the level of difficulty or what i would need to do so. I have a 2000 Civic Si and i found a K20A type 'iS' engine, but its the longblock only. It includes: Engine block Cylinder head Intake manifold Throttle body Upper exhaust manifold All attached sensors and pulleys pictured http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/4/web/2248000-2248999/2248332_6_full.jpg This engine originally came out of the Integra iS found in Japan. This engine is comparable to what is found in the US spec base model RSX or EP3 Civic Si. Featuring a 2.0 DOHC iVTEC setup, this engine puts down 160 hp at 6,500 RPM, 141 lb/ft at 4,000 RPM and has a redline of 6,800 RPM. I was wondering what all it's lacking for a swap into a civic, i know i need mounts and etc. I'm just unsure on the specifics. If it goes over 2500 for the needed parts (aside the engine cost obviously) I'd just go with the B18C then.. (Being a normal k20 Swap is about 4000 for the engine alone) exman98 03-29-2006, 09:16 PM i have done a lot of searching about the k20 into a 6th gen civic. if you already have an si (b16) i dont think it is worth the the stuggle, even though it wouod be cool. check the engine section on the honda forums, it should cover everything you need. anyways i know hasport (i think that is how to spell the company) makes mounts for it, if you scheck thier web sight i think they tell you more info about the swap. 93CivicSiD16HB 03-29-2006, 11:24 PM Yeah, I mean i DO plan on owning an RSX-S but not for a few years, I think i'm going to go b18C, i just need a LITTLE more torque, being i'm opting for a turbo. Just looked like an interesting swap. Unless anyone gives me some ridiculous reasons to go K-Swap :) BrodyP 03-30-2006, 01:48 AM If ya got the money man go for it robunicu 04-03-2006, 03:20 PM well you will be more proud of yourself in the end you know. but i was told that k24 bottom end with k20 type s head would be much better. but good luck whichever way you go. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
