But I Am Not Sure Wheather To Put A 3.1 In Or If I Can Put An Ecotec In It.i Would Appreciate Any Suggestions Or Anwsers. Thank You. jakegday 03-29-2006, 08:19 AM you can do anything with the right amount of money, and since you're rebuilding an entire car, you must have a decent sized pocket, personally i would choose the 3.1, just cuz its a 1993, and i would want it to be original as possible, (i think they used 3.1's in 93) and im sure the 3.1 would be a hell of alot easier, (still assuming its one of the orignal engines of that year) but of course you put in an ecotec as well, hell you could put a big block 454 in it if you wanted, just depends on how deep your pockets are, (and how good your fabricating/welding skills are) bats75 03-29-2006, 10:07 AM it was helpful now im onto rebuilding 4dr92cavi4cyl 03-29-2006, 01:54 PM So which will it be, 3.1 or 2.2 Eco? It may be a more difficult swap, but I think an Ecotech would be the best bet if you are planning on doing any minor/moderate performance upgrades, as there are more aftermarket parts for the Eco than the 3.1. With a mild turbo setup it will be pretty close to the 3.1 in power, and use less fuel under "normal" driving. A stage 2 turbo setup would be simpply astounding. Imagine the sound of an Ecotech winding up as the boost builds and thrusts you into the very back of your seat, aproaching red line and as you shift - Tsssss! Heads will turn, twice, expecting to see a newer model car. 2nd gen looks with 4th gen tricks! blackwidow98 04-13-2006, 01:43 AM that sounds good but the 454 is arousing! but just imagine what it wuld be like to have the only 93 cavalier in the world to be powered by a 572 chevy crate motor! *drool* 4dr92cavi4cyl 04-13-2006, 03:45 PM 572! Can we say - body twist? I saw some pics on the net a few years ago of a yellow 3rd gen Cavalier with a 350 sticking out from the hood. It was for sale, I wonder why? It looked bad ass, but sucked on gas, I'm sure... I wonder what -bats75- decided on... ? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
