One quick question...RVZFan 03-28-2006, 03:07 PM Hey boys, i have a 2001 extended cab silverado, rear wheel drive. I was going to get some new tires, and i was wondering how big a tire i can get. I have 245s right now, just the stock tires, but i was looking at getting getting something around 275 or 295. Do i need to get new rims to get tires that big? If so, how big of a tire can i get with the stock rims? 01silverado03z400 03-28-2006, 03:32 PM I think 305 is the biggest u can go. TexasF355F1 03-28-2006, 07:52 PM I don't think 305 will fit. mikethehammer 03-28-2006, 10:47 PM i think 285's are as big as you can get without a lift or rubbing, thats what i have 01silverado03z400 03-28-2006, 11:42 PM ooops sorry i forgot that 2wd dont hav torsion bars and I think someone said in another thread that you could fit 305s on a 4x4 but u need to crank the hell out of your torsion bars. With 2wd the biggest u can go is probly 285 or 275 without any rubbing. jeverett 03-29-2006, 09:13 AM I wouldn't put any bigger than a 265 on a 2wd personally. 285's are pushing it and 305's just wont make it. If its a 4x4, then you can put 305's, but you have to crank the t-bars some. onehate02 03-29-2006, 02:59 PM i got 275/70/r16 and they fit perfect, i have a 2wd and its sitting stock which is already kinda low.
