Turbo EX D16Y8 QuestionsAyshenwayZ 03-27-2006, 08:32 PM ive got a 2000 civic EX with around 115000 miles bone stock.....im almost finished putting together a turbo kit with a t3/t4 garrett turbo - greddy blow-off and wastegate - sidemount intercooler - all piping....but mi question is what else should i get besides forged pistons and rods so i dont blow mi engine???? CivicSpoon 03-28-2006, 12:25 AM A really good engine management system. Possibly sleeves as well, but that depends on your hp goals. topnoss 03-29-2006, 01:48 AM dependinig how much your pushing. for best fit. port/polish, new racing valve spring, retainer, camshaft, cam gear, light flywheel, 2.5 piping. AyshenwayZ 03-29-2006, 06:07 PM im lookin for about 300 horses.....im not lookin to dominate but enough.....so u dont think i should need any forged rods or pistons??? Wischmaster 05-19-2006, 05:50 AM 300HP? All you would need is some Wiseco pistons, Eagle Rods... rebuilt head (or build it if you want, not completely necessary but very good) and a turbo around the size of a T3/TD04E. Possible on around 18psi-20psi on a good tune with an engine management of your choice. _93civchatch_ 05-19-2006, 09:00 PM it might just be but i would bet your gonna blow our engine if your seriously trying to get 300hp out of an ex engine. Wischmaster 05-20-2006, 03:38 AM I know of a few people that have hit 400+whp on a SOHC D16 motor. It's quite possible. And actually, there is a guy that hit 273whp on a stock internal'd D16Z6. A really, really good tune is a must so I would just skip the SAFC/VAFC and go right to a chipped ECU with either Uberdata/Crome or a Hondata setup for fuel management. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
