i have a 3rd gen rx7 95. its a pretty good car overall but a few problems with an older one is finding one with low miles. this can be trouble some as rx7s are 13b rotarys which produce plenty of axese heat, there is soo much heat that this is why the engines blow up so quickly. the first thing i would tell you to do is to buy a new engine from www.rotaryengine.ca/generation.htm this site will tell you the price of your engine whether it be the older FC or FD or even the first gens. second of all you must cool that engine down. buy an intercooler, get cold air intake, get a blow off valve to release the pressure that builds up in the turbo these things will really help you out in the long run. i give the car a two thumbs up other wise!! also be sure to check out www.pettitracing.com you can find 3 rotor rotary engines!!! 555HP! :)

if you want to spend about 20k, you can by a 3rd gen with a blown engine for around $4500-7500 and do Ls-1 conversion. it will out do any stock 13b or 20b and all ya got to do it change the oil every 3k and you'll almost have 50/50 weight still without all the turbo set-up. it will run about 12.7 quarter mile with stock Ls-1 and get better gas milage.
