Improve MPGKATIN 03-27-2006, 12:55 PM Does anyone know how to increase the MPG on this car? soapsuds22 04-03-2006, 01:03 AM You can start with the basics, like a K&N filter, better plugs and wire's and maybe a catback. drftk1d 04-03-2006, 01:15 AM drive like a pussy mazdatech177 04-03-2006, 12:25 PM sell it and get civic aznboyga 06-20-2006, 07:35 PM When I first bought my car brand new, it had 60 miles on the odometer. I dont' know how long the car was sitting in but I first started getting about 15mpg. I went to the shop (@ 2800 miles) I normally go to to get my very first oil change and nothing really changed w/ the mpg. When I hit 5900 miles, I took it to my Mazda dealer and had them do my oil change and it really made a difference. I now get 19mpg on the same route. I would assume that certain places don't know how to do a proper oil change on the rotary engine and it really takes a toll on the car if not done properly. Hope this helps. Needmorerotors 07-03-2006, 11:09 AM your mazda dealer probly just gave you the latest flash with your oil change.your lucky my rx only get about 13-15 mpg.I dont think there ne thing u can do wrong in a oil change that would affect gas milage unless u had oil all over the place form a loose filter but that ould be ovious:2cents: Needmorerotors 07-03-2006, 11:16 AM And to stay on topic theres really nothin you can do to help your 8 on gas milage.I have AEM intake and RB catback sys.no notiable mpg and not much of an hp gain(maybe 5 hp if that).I use more gas now b/c I love the sound of the AEM intake at high rpms:ylsuper: TSOPbananaforyou 07-03-2006, 02:13 PM Like Mazdatech said "sell it and buy a civic". You knew the EPA rating on the window sticker when you bought it and I'm sure you knew your driving style. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
