99 civic si vs. 03 maxima???uncle2571 03-26-2006, 07:00 PM Hey everyone I'm a newb to this forum and I just have a starting out thread for you all. Today I was driving in my city (Flagstaff,AZ) when a '03 Nissan Maxima pulls up next to me. Everything stock and automatic. Hey rev's his engine (of course) and takes off. Unfortunately, I was taking a left going back home from work. Now I just picked up my red '99 civic si, and it has the common bolt on's already in (i.e. Headers, Cold air intake and exhaust) with a duel bend shifter (I think it's called.) I thought pretty hard about racing him but the simple fact I wasn't really in the mood for a ticket or anyting considering the fact it was broad daylight in a busy intersection. But if I would have actually dragged him, what do you guys/girls think the outcome would have been? We both honked and took off. He had a pretty good jump but I wasn't far behind. Every time I would shift though, he would gain a little and a little more. I ended up losing by about 1 1/2 cars. :( exman98 03-30-2006, 11:37 PM not to shabby, cant win them all. hxgaser 03-31-2006, 06:57 PM You are running against a V6 from anywhere from 220hp to 255hp and mid 200 ft. lbs of torque depending on the engine size. 3.5L's even came with 6 speed manual. Of course you are going to lose. But at least, it was fun, wasn't it? uncle2571 03-31-2006, 08:10 PM It sure was vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
