High Intensity Discharge headlamps. Interesting animals. Had one blow out, and can't get anyone to work on it. I'm trying to avoid going to the dealer, because I had one blow out while it was under warrantee and apparently it was a $500 repair.
1) How do I figure out if the failure is the bulb or the ballast?
2) Can I change the bulb just like any "normal" bulb? There are lots of warning stickers about high voltage, and the manual recommends it as dealer only work.
Really? It would really be a blow to my ego if I couldn't change a bulb!
