Can't find the bloody batterysupertle 03-25-2006, 09:43 AM Well, it looks to be under the washer fluid which is under this metal bracing bar, why is the battery location so hard to get to!!! I think my battery is dead, and it's hard as heck to get the jumper cable connected, I tried jumpstarting it but it didn't work and I suspect I didn't have good contact to the battery with the cables, Any ideas? 91EURO3.1L 03-25-2006, 09:55 AM my car is a 91 and the battery is right in front of the washer fluid and there is a brace right over the top of it. When i had to remove my battery I took off two screws on that black brace a pushed it to the side. Then I had to move either the washer fluid or the air cleaner box out of the way because I couldn't lift the battery straight up, after that you should be able to take it out. Alot of work just to remove a battery. richtazz 03-25-2006, 09:58 AM There is a jump-post near the drivers side strut tower (on the Lumina cars), and it's covered by a red plastic cap. The APV vans have a similar post on the passenger side. I assume your's is a car because you stated the battery is under the solvent bottle. supertle 03-25-2006, 04:08 PM It's a 97 chevy lumina sedan after reading the manual, i figured it out It says to connect the + (red) to the REMOTE terminal, which is like an extension from the battery, and connect the - (black) to any metal on the car, that made it worked I don't see the difference of me trying to connect my jumper cable directly on each +/- But oh well, after starting it and bringing it to firestone for nys inspection, they said i need a new serpentine belt and my wheel cylinder is leaking, had to pay $310 to fix it, what a day maxwedge 03-25-2006, 04:22 PM Serpentine belt only fails if it has 3 cracks per inch across the belt. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
