2 Problems Please Help

ok can some one please help me i have 2 question..i have a 86 300zx NA and when i get on it like tach it up....and then come to a stop it idols low and start dieing out and shut off but if i give it gas it will stay on but if after it dies when i start it and go...after i for for like 20 feet and stop it idols perfect any idea and also when i turn my wheel there is a clicken noise in the stearing collum ..ever time i turn left and right it click like it get stuck if u have any idea please let me know thanks

my 86 na did that too untill i gutted the cat and replaced the muffler, my has 240k on it and still runs strong as hell

hey yeah mine started to do that after a lil bit after i got the car.
to find out the probelm i took the ecu out of the lil compartment where
its stored on the passengers side and followed the diagnostic steps such as
idling it at 2k while it blinks lights at you. you get the code and look it up.
i did this and it said just to turn my idle speed control valve up so i did and i've had no problem since. heres the site where i looked it up if u were curious.

someone also told me that was the auto choke from a bad o2 sensor

that cliking noise could be in your steering an suspension . it kind of sounds like you have a contol arm(s) or bal joints problem .. with the car as old as it is i wouldnt doubt it ..

id say the idle adjustment or try just pulling it off and cleaning it with sensor safe cleaner also try the ecu coder
