You know the ones like 5W20, 5W30, 10W30, 10W40, 15W40, 20W50

oil gets thicker in cold weather, and thinner in warm weather.

you want a lower weight oil for the winter, but a higher weight for the summer.

5W means it is a 5 weight, and the W stands for winter, and the 20 is the warm weight.

The oil has different waxes in it to make it have literally 2 different weights.
