You have already identified the car - the chassis number is "56XPGT".

Your photos aren't new unfortunately. In fact there haven't been any new shots of this car for quite some time making me wonder just where it may have ended up. :dunno:

Here's my favorite photo of it - pulled as a screenshot from the DVD "Martin Brundle's Supercars".

Is the GT still at MTC? whats the story with that car? is it McLaren owned and not/never for sale????

I've seen some recent pictures of the line-up, and the GT is not on display......

Is MTC open to the general public? if not, how do people get visits/trips there etc?

Albert 68, Thankyou for your appreciation on my Silverstone pics.

Payso, I think McLaren have sold this car.

Eric, did Gordon tell you Rowan Atkinson has now got a longtail, did he mention the word GTR?

Le Man,

I didnt know if this was true but the guy who sent me this picture told me Rowan Atkinson has another McLaren that is a Longtail GTR. I will ask and see if he can get pics of it.

This may interest some of you model collectors,

http:// www.modelcars.jp (http://www.modelcars.jp)

Go to modelcars gallery, scroll down page. A very nice burgandy F1 GT model, not sure of scale, but detailing is very good.

Scale 1/12

Albert68, all pics of 58F1GT that we know of, are all listed in the 'Japan Fleet' thread. Have a look here: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=437592

For 56XP, I believe there are a few more pics of rather high resolution, showing it at goodwood. These came about late last year, I believe. You will have to do some searching or maybe one of the others can see in their collection?

Well some say that Brunei never got a GT, but yes that other interior shot almost certainly comes from 54F1GT. I was suprised to see that in there because it had always been assumed that the brochures were made when 56XPGT was completed, and per the chassis history chart 54F1GT and 58F1GT came later in the build process, after the longtail GTRs.

Just see this F1 GT brochure on Ebay,

Comes with a personally signed letter, sent by Gordon Murray himself !! Must be to somebody of importance, for Gordon to send this brochure himself.

Here,s the link.http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/McLaren-F1-GT-Brochure_W0QQitemZ6621407876QQcategoryZ14046QQrdZ1 QQcmdZViewItem

Albert 68, Sorry for duplicating the pic, I have found the other pics of GT,s. Will digitize and post them tomorrow.

Many thanks Eric, For the interior shot clarification.

Does anybody know if McLaren paints the cars themselves now (now that they have MTC) or do they still use another bodyshop?
