I have a 95 monte 3.1 and am trying to clear old codes I'm not sure if it is obd1 or obd2 ..The obd2 scanner won't plug in and the little prong jumper I use on my older gm won't work ... Can I still just unhook battery for a while ?

Unhook the batery and touch the positive and the negative post cables together and the system should reset
