bugs in intercooleroooggss 07-06-2002, 10:05 PM if i dont remove bugs from the intercooler...would it damage the intercooler? Gonthrax 07-09-2002, 12:30 PM No.... But if you don't like the bugs just go buy some screen with pretty big squares and cut it out to fit over your IC. rex4ev 07-09-2002, 03:29 PM yeah, the debris that can get in there can actually be quite a nuisance. use a screen to keep out the riff-raff. bigpimpingeo 04-16-2003, 11:18 PM Do like most people I know and put a mesh screen on the bottom of the hood and it stops EVERYTHING from hitting and screwing up the little fins on your intercooler. Blitzen 04-17-2003, 09:49 AM Wouldnt that disrupt the airflow into the FMIC? That is, if your car has an FMIC srtup. freakray 04-17-2003, 10:52 AM Originally posted by Blitzen Wouldnt that disrupt the airflow into the FMIC? That is, if your car has an FMIC srtup. If it did, then the WRC cars wouldn't have mesh screens in front of their intercoolers to keep gravel and debris off them. Considering the WRX is a top mount unit with a scoop to direct the air, and anything else, onto the intercooler, a mesh screen under the hood is not a bad idea to keep the worst off. Blitzen 04-19-2003, 06:57 AM True, Freakray. Please excuse my technical knowledge, as I am still learning about engines etc. :o endlesskev86 04-26-2003, 03:19 AM Originally posted by freakray If it did, then the WRC cars wouldn't have mesh screens in front of their intercoolers to keep gravel and debris off them.
