1990 3.1 euro lumina oil pan helpdcninja 03-19-2006, 07:49 AM I need to replace the oil pan gasket for a friend of mine on his 1990 euro edition chevy lumina. what does it involve? will i have to drop the tranny or anything goofy like that? what do I have to remove to replace the gasket besides the oil pan? any exhaust in the way, etc etc... how difficult is it going to be? dreamcastninja@yahoo.com thanks! maxwedge 03-20-2006, 07:29 AM Go to autozone.com/repairinfo enter the car and go to repair info. NeonKnight 03-22-2006, 01:53 AM you have to drop the engine to get access to the oil pan, also the oil pan is not the only thing that drips. the 3.1 and 3.4 engines have notorius leaks from the "Oil pump drive" assembly. which is right under the rear head. this will drip oil down the engine and most shops blame it on a pan gasket... get the engine steamed afterwards if possible also. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
