94 Bonny SSE, new engine won't get rightCrunch67 03-18-2006, 09:00 AM :screwy: Ok folks, maybe someone else has seen this, I am a mechanical engineer in the navy, so i'm not completely inept at this sort of thing, and so far even the "PRO's" can't figure it out. Dealer said 94 Bonny SSE, had bad cylinder compression on #5 cylinder. I didn't have time to rebuid it myself, so I had a remanufactured engine installed ($3,300.). Engine installer can't figured out why, upon starting engine idles roughly for approx 45 seconds (when cold), like she wants to cut out, causing the gages to go haywire, and the idle jumps all over the place, but she catches and keeps running, after 45 seconds or so, she runs great. All new parts installed with remanned engine, plus already changed the cam position sensor, the ignition coil pack, new plugs and wires, ignition control module, new gas tank and fuel pump. Mechanic has checked all vacum line, plus the electrical connections and wires. :banghead: O.K here's the interesting part after 2 weeks the car is still with the engine company, the shop owner is baffled and wants to take it to a dealer to run a diagnostic. I love the car, but I"m starting to think she doesn't love me. Frustrated and darn near broke--crunch67 auto trainy 03-20-2006, 08:46 AM I had the same condition when my intake plenum was leaking, the cylinders would get wet and would have to burn off before running clean. The way I tested it was to pressure test the cooling system. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
