What year of truck and what engine do you have ? Two things come to mind. Did you break the crankshaft position sensor off ? Did you break or dislocate the distributor cap ?

Start with fuel, spark, and air.

The fuel pumps comes on when the switch is turned on. Checked the voltage going to the coil had 12 volts. Check the voltage while turning the engine over and it held at 12 volts. But no spark through the coil wire. Checked the coil resistance, the primary res. was fine. Checked the secondary res. but nothing just an open lead on Ohm meter. Bought a new coil and checked it same results. Returned the new coil to part store and they got the same results through the coil as I did. They checked it on the Millivolt scale of the meter, and said that the coil was fine. Checked the distributor and the crankshaft sensor everthing fine with them. The truck is a 1995 model with the 318engine.

It was the crankshaft position sensor. Thanks for the replies!
