So tomorrow I'm going to look at a 2003 civic EX. Apparently it has been in an accident but the lady said she fixed it up and you can't even tell, but she bought it salvaged at an auction. I don't know much about cars at all. She's asking 11,000 dollars for it. It has 61,000 miles on it. What should I offer her for it if I like it?

Offer her 9. I would pay 11 for that car if it had never been wrecked. But salvaged title, there's no resale value.

With a wreckage title, the car is actually worth just $7240.00. But with a lot of that sort, a fair deal would probably be just over $8k. It assumes the 15% salvage title and the resale costs.

If you are planning on keeping the car until its death, it is a good deal. If you are young and just waiting to upgrade then perhaps not.

There should be an appraiser in your area that will come and meet you at the time of purchase. I would recommend that you do that, it can save you thousands.

wish you luck, and remember to think twice before signing anything!
