2001 Ram Radio Wiring?CastleRocco 03-16-2006, 10:50 PM I have a 2001 Ram 1500 quad cab. The radio has the black connector and the gray connector, but there is also a little white connector with 2 wires. I can't find them on any wiring diagram. Does anyone know what they are, and do I have to do anything with them when I put my aftermarket radio in? tony36 03-16-2006, 11:09 PM What kind of radio are you taking out? There are aome extra wires for cd changer controls, even if your truck doesn't have one, but they should be on the wiring diagram. Try downloading the free service manual posted for II gen dodges. It could be of help. Its on the ram pickup page. tony36 03-16-2006, 11:09 PM What kind of radio are you taking out? Thanks Everyone. I found the wire diagram, and the 2 wires are called CCD bus +, and CCD bus -. They go to the "Central Timer Module". Does anyone know what they are, and what do I do with them? The new radio has no connection for them. CastleRocco 03-24-2006, 12:11 AM Well, Thanks everyone. I got the new Radio in. I Just left the 2 wires unconnected and everything works great, so they must not be needed for anything. Anyway..... Thanks again. kru 03-29-2006, 01:23 AM OK. Thanks Everyone. The new radio has no connection for them. Those are for steering wheel controls, if the vehicle is equipped with that option. When they switched to the 'oval' style of radio all of them got that plug whether the car had steering wheel audio controls or not. Cheaper to make one version of the radio than two, I guess... vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
