when i was driving offroad the other day i wanted to try to put my jeep grand LTD. in 4x4 LO but there was this bad grind comming from the jeep when i put it in drive. i took it out of LO as soo as possible (1 sec.) could this have done alot of harm to my jeep. i mean it drives fine but should i get it checked out.

No it won't do any harm, this happens often, You prolly didn't have it all the way in 4LO or the TC Linkage might need adjustment.

Did you come to a complete stop, Put the tranny in NEUTRAL then pull back on the TC lever to put it in 4LO without pausing in any other gears?

yes the jeep was in neutral and stoped before i put 4 LO in but it still made the noise does anyone have any tricks or tips to 4LO???

ok then, your linkage for the transfer case will need to be adjusted.
