85 crx fuel issues

hello
i own an 85 crx and it ticks over at a constant 2,000rpm. im wondering what the problem could be, ive been told possibly a vacuum hose (ive checked them, seem ok), a stepper motor, various sensors not working or more likely an idle intake valve.
the pump buzzes but i dont think it is linked and i have also replaced the fuel filter. it idles hot or cold at 2,000rpm and behaves perfectly normally otherwise besides doing 15mpg.
does anyone have any idea what the problem could be before i visit the honda dealership and sell my family for the part?
