it could be your battery or your alternator, its most likely your battery though, you can take your car to almost any auto parts store and they should test it for free,

I have a simm. issue with both my 04 cav and my wife's 2000 cav., I have after market foglights on the 04 car and If I am driving with them on, in combination with the headlights, and if the heater or airconditioning is on I notice that my dash lights will dim and the speed of my fan blower will also slow down. Took it to chevy and they told me it's the foglights causing the problem. Bull*hit, because my wife's car does the samething and she doesen't have fog lights at all. It's the underpowered alternator that causes most the the electrical issues in cavalier. If they would have only boosted it by 20amps, neither the headlights or the blower motor would dime when they are on in conjunction.
