Just wondering how they match up i have a spec v and a relative has a 944. I hear there both running low to mid 15's in the 1/4 and low 7's high 6's in 0-60.

Anyone know how they compare.

Also the Turbo S was only made in 88. The Nissan has TCS, doesn't it? An inept driver would do better with the SER. They are both about the same weight, the SER Spec V has 175 hp from the QR motor, and the 944 has what, 160 something? The 944 has better potential, it can lose more weight than the Spec V. Also, it has the inherent advantage of RWD

The Spec V will kick its ass.

The 944 and the original (classic) Sentra SE-R are pretty equivilent. The Spec V is mighty good. With the ATB differential it really kicks ass on road courses. At the SE-R National Convention in Phoenix this year the Spec V was impressing everyone.

You should join the SE-R Mailing List if you have not already.

Actually, the Turbo S was only in 88, the 89-91 951s although identical to the 88 TS, were not considered S's. It all comes from the Porsche tradition of offering preproduction technology in a limited run of cars.

In late 87, they already had all of the updates for the 951 worked out, but were not ready to do full scale production of the reworked 951, so they made a thousand S models, with the 245 hp, K26/#8, LSD, M030... The things that defined the 88S as seperate from the 88 951 were all standard in the 89-91 951, and they dropped the S designation.

Another useless bit of Porsche trivia!
