I asume you mean a real fast idle.
If it has TBI injection remove the throttle body and replace the base gasket.

checked the gasket . The only way the Blazer runs is if you keep your foot on the gas pedal. at about 1500. Anything below that and it dies. So I guess you can call that high idle.. but the problem is as soon as you remove your foot it dies. Keep your foot on the gas and it will run. Put it in gear and you have to step on the gas. Will not idle. ??? Its just crazy. can't figure this out. Thanks !

Get a scanner on it and check IAC valve operation and circuit.

I went through this with my 350 V8 in my 89 Silverado. It wouldn't idle unless I kept it reved up. I changed the IAC valve and MAP sensor but it did no good. Are you getting a hard brake pedal with no vacuum assist?

In the end my problem was the EGR valve. A new valve and the trucks idles just perfectly now
