My Siverstone 97 picsLe Man 03-12-2006, 05:12 PM These pics were taken by myself, at the Silverstone 97 FIA GT meeting, Saturday qualifying. It BLOODY SNOWED that day? So I hope you all appreciate these pics. I only took fourteen Mclaren shots that day. I know, I should have taken more, (two were sub standard). Here are four pics as starters. http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/3637/01rinterior5yk.th.jpg (http://img207.imageshack.us/my.php?image=01rinterior5yk.jpg) 01R Interior from Mclarens paddock line up. http://img126.imageshack.us/img126/8858/97gulf10kp.th.jpg (http://img126.imageshack.us/my.php?image=97gulf10kp.jpg) http://img131.imageshack.us/img131/9091/97gulf26hn.th.jpg (http://img131.imageshack.us/my.php?image=97gulf26hn.jpg) http://img131.imageshack.us/img131/4172/97gulf38fp.th.jpg (http://img131.imageshack.us/my.php?image=97gulf38fp.jpg) Team Davidoff Gulf Racing pit garage. I managed to get a quite a few photos of the cars in the pits and a few on the track as well. I didn't go Sunday because it was bad, but over the years i have managed to track some photos down that some one else took i have add them to my collection of Mclaren photo,s Here is one of those photo. This was taken on Sunday. http://image50.webshots.com/50/9/45/89/2586945890048036277PFGIuE_fs.jpg hurstg01 03-13-2006, 02:26 PM I remember the wet weather on Saturday http://image50.webshots.com/50/9/45/89/2586945890048036277PFGIuE_fs.jpg Yeah, looks a little, shall we say, moist?.........:iceslolan Le Man 03-13-2006, 04:57 PM Tak 43, So you you missed the flurry of snow around lunch time then, how about the hail stones, I guess you did not miss the rain? Le Man 03-14-2006, 05:31 PM Yes , To see eleven McLaren F1,s in one day and track action takes some beating. I have found the autosport images, will try to post asap. Peloton25 03-14-2006, 06:17 PM It amazes me that for nine years there were just one or two images of this setting in the public domain, and in the past year two people have come forward with excellent photos to share. I hope some more archived shots make their way out from some of the other multi-F1 gatherings like the 1995 GTR intro party, and the 1995 Goodwood FOS display. >8^) ER ArchangelGTR 03-15-2006, 01:00 AM Nice collection of photos here! Please, could Anyone post other f1 gt & LM pictures at mclaren stand? http://img91.imageshack.us/img91/3860/cplm97mclf1gtrroute0ii.jpg F1 monster 03-16-2006, 12:44 PM Which chassis number is the gulf car that Le Man has posted pics of? Le Man, thanks for the pics. hurstg01 03-16-2006, 02:05 PM Which chassis number is the gulf car that Le Man has posted pics of? Le Man, thanks for the pics. I have them as 022R, the Parabolica as #024R, the Gulf one ripped apart as #020R and the bent silver MVR is #006R Nice pics !! BMW.WilliamsF1Team 03-16-2006, 02:23 PM In the first set of pics, there are the Gulf Davidoff #1, #2, and #3 (you can't see the car number in the pic, but it's back there). #3 is 20R, #2 is 22R, and #1 is 25R afaik. 28R later wore the #1 at different races. Thanks for posting those new pics, though! I didn't have any pics of 25R in the Gulf colors. F1 monster 03-16-2006, 03:12 PM Do you mean the Gulf Day Off? I don't see a Gulf Davidoff car? If so, please confirm the chassis number for that car--or is it a guess because we can't see what race number the car is wearing, since we are looking only at the back of the car? I am referring to the last pic in the set of 6 (post 14 in this thread, linked to this pic http://img66.imageshack.us/my.php?image=p31600899ez.jpg). Le Man 03-16-2006, 03:56 PM Last pic is car no 1, Chassis no 25R. Bellm, Gilbert Scott joined by Raphanel. who is pictured in pits with car. As his car no 3, Chassis no 20R. Was crashed in sunday warm up by Gounon (1st pic). Car no 2, Chassis no 22R. Nielson, Bscher. (3rd pic) Parabolica car is 27R. (4th pic) All Gulf cars ran in Day off livery, Due to cigarette advertising ban UK. Hail stone slush on bonnet of Gulf car (pic 5) MVR car 06R, (pic 2) I hope this clarifies the Chassis no,s. Thankyou Albert 68, for posting pic of 56 XP GT, Great shot. Also guys, Many thanks for the appreciated compliments. BMW.WilliamsF1Team 03-16-2006, 03:57 PM Do you mean the Gulf Day Off? I don't see a Gulf Davidoff car? If so, please confirm the chassis number for that car--or is it a guess because we can't see what race number the car is wearing, since we are looking only at the back of the car? I am referring to the last pic in the set of 6 (post 14 in this thread, linked to this pic http://img66.imageshack.us/my.php?image=p31600899ez.jpg). I wasn't talking about that picture. I was referring to the garage pic. All the pics are from Silverstone. It's still Team Gulf Davidoff. They put Day Off on the car because tabacoo advertising reasons, but it doesn't change the team name (like in F1 post race interview, they still say Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro even though tabacco ads on cars aren't allowed at some races). Like BE ON EDGE for Benson Hedges... hurstg01 03-16-2006, 04:30 PM Le ManParabolica car is 27R. (4th pic) I have it as definitely #024R, as it also raced at Donington, Laguna Seca, Nurburgring, Zeltweg and Spa all in 1997 using the same number BMW.WilliamsF1Team 03-16-2006, 05:39 PM I have it as definitely #024R, as it also raced at Donington, Laguna Seca, Nurburgring, Zeltweg and Spa all in 1997 using the same number 27R was in the FIA GT Championship for Silverstone in 1997. Placed 6th with Ayles/Goodwin per QV500 info. Le Man 03-16-2006, 06:00 PM Hi Greg, Hope you are not getting confussed with the car taylor&crawley have for sale, as oppossed to 27R at Cars International? If so, they better swap chassis plates. Swapping chassis plates, Now there,s a thought to ponder over!! Please correct me if I am wrong, 024R first raced LeMan 97, Lehto, Soper, Piquet. F1 monster 03-16-2006, 06:24 PM Thanks for all the info, guys. Much appreciated. BMW.WilliamsF1Team 03-16-2006, 06:36 PM Hi Greg, Hope you are not getting confussed with the car taylor&crawley have for sale, as oppossed to 27R at Cars International? If so, they better swap chassis plates. Swapping chassis plates, Now there,s a thought to ponder over!! Please correct me if I am wrong, 024R first raced LeMan 97, Lehto, Soper, Piquet. 24R did have the Parabolica livery for some races. It did race at the 1997 LeMans 24 Hours with those drivers, but under the BMW Motorsport team livery with the number 42. Other liveries included EMI (red), EMI (blue with Harmon Kardon), and Gulf Davidoff. 27R was at the LeMans 24 Hours in 1997 with the LARK livery. Your 1997 Silverstone picture of 27R has almost the same color combo as the LARK LeMans livery, just a little different. Le Man 03-17-2006, 11:25 AM Hi Greg, Check out this Autosport add, Seller contact, Any relation of yours? were did you get Parabolica 24R info from!! http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/2482/p31700632zc.th.jpg (http://img291.imageshack.us/my.php?image=p31700632zc.jpg) 24R only entered five events during 97, LeMan, fina colours, Nurburgring,spa,A1 Ring and Suzuka in Gulf racing team Davidoff colours (Bscher/Nielsen) Crashing heavily during free practice. As pic. http://img102.imageshack.us/img102/9238/p31700644ro.th.jpg (http://img102.imageshack.us/my.php?image=p31700644ro.jpg) hurstg01 03-17-2006, 02:23 PM were did you get Parabolica 24R info from!! Whoa! i was WAY wide of the mark on that one then!... All my info has been gleaned from here, going on each page and each thread building up info as i go!... I had better re-look at my files........ Le Man 03-17-2006, 03:14 PM Glad to help you Greg, I,m ok on GTR info. But these guys here tell me a road car chassis no, then I just take their word for it!! (They could be wrong sometimes?) Peloton25 03-17-2006, 07:39 PM Yes, we've been wrong sometimes, but not too often. :naughty: We're usually pretty clear on whether the chassis number is accurate or a guess. Most of the ones we quote are no longer guesses. FYI: I moved the rest of this post where I mentioned Paul Stewart's F1 to a new thread (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=539337). >8^) ER Le Man 06-08-2006, 10:01 AM What is different about 01R in this pic, to when it raced at LeMans 95? http://img506.imageshack.us/img506/6010/01rinterior2ls.th.jpg (http://img506.imageshack.us/my.php?image=01rinterior2ls.jpg) If you stare at the pic long enough, you will miss it. It's that obvious!!! Peloton25 06-08-2006, 11:34 AM Well the most obvious difference is the steering wheel, but I didn't have to stare very long at the photo in order to notice that so maybe you are suggesting something else as well. :dunno: >8^) ER mini magic 06-08-2006, 12:49 PM Steering wheel for sure Le Man 06-08-2006, 01:38 PM You are both correct!!
