Does the lighting for the instrumentation panel on the civic just kinda suck, or do i have a burnt out bulb? my needles (spedo, fuel, temp) are not illuminated, but the rest of the guage is (just not the needles). is this normal for a Civic DX? or do i have a burnt bulb?

i bought my civic used, so im not sure if its supposed to be like this or not.
thanks

ok i think im getting somewhere. i decided to take the plunge and open it up. i found that the aftermarket face plate it came with blocks the two lights that illuminate the panel and needles from above. badly designed face plate. where can i get a stock one, or a better designed aftermarket one? (i really do like the way it looks, but it makes everything dimmer.)

I think that they use #74 bulbs for illumination. The tiny bulbs burn out quicker than the #194 bulbs used in some clusters.
