'98 LTZ Showing Code P0336, What Does This Involve?'73 Stingray 03-12-2006, 01:36 PM I have a '98 with the 3.8 and it is giving the crankshaft position sensor code (P0336). What problems might this be indicating? Anyone know of any fixes? Thanks, Scott maxwedge 03-12-2006, 07:10 PM Poor or interupted signal from the cps, this can be caused by the sensor itself, the connector and/or wiring to the icm and pcm. '73 Stingray 03-13-2006, 10:06 AM Are there any mechanical problems that this may be indicating? richtazz 03-13-2006, 02:00 PM It can and will cause stalling and missing as it gets worse. Could progress into a no-start situation if left unattended. The crank sensor is what the PCM uses to fire the spark plugs at the correct time, adjust timing advance, fuel delivery, etc... vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
