Anyone know how to turn off the airbag indicator?fgp 03-11-2006, 03:38 PM I was doing some work on the horn and did not disconnect the battery, i just unplugged the airbag wire. Now I get the airbag light blinking in the beginning and then it just stays on all the time. I unplugged the battery for a while but it didnt reset it. Any ideas? thanks in advance. Davescort97 03-13-2006, 08:30 PM The airbag light flashes to tell you what the diagnostic code is. LIke 3 flashes, then pause and 2 flashes is diagnostic code 32. What order and frequency does your air bag light flash? fgp 03-13-2006, 10:30 PM Thanks for replying. I didn't know that, it's giving me only code 34. Do you know what that means and how to reset it? Davescort97 03-15-2006, 07:34 PM Thanks for replying. I didn't know that, it's giving me only code 34. Do you know what that means and how to reset it? Code 34 Driver's side airbag low resistance or shorted. The connectors have spring clips that are called shorting bars. Whenever the two connectors are separated the Green/yellow and Black/yellow wires are shorted together. A poorly mated sliding contact connector may not push the shorting bars back into their fully retracted positions. I'd do this: Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery. Take apart and reconnect the plastic connectors making sure the sliding contact connector is pushed in all the way. This will push the spring clips (shorting bar) back inito the connectors hopefully getting rid of the shorted conditiion. Reconnect the battery. Sometimes the diagnostic monitor has to be replaced to get the light to go out. Such as, a blown fuse inside it. I don't think you will have to go this route. As soon as the shorted condition is corrected the light should go out. There are 2 other things that could give this code and that is a damaged shorting bar or a short in the wiring. Other than this, I don't know what to say. I hope it solves your problem. Dave fgp 03-16-2006, 11:46 AM I appreciate your help. I will try that, the connector was really loose and what I did was stick it with tape so it didnt get loose but that didnt work, the light still blinked. Thanks. fgp 03-16-2006, 11:55 AM I'm an idiot, you were right. I didn't push the connector all the way in, that's why it was loose and the light was on. Thank you again.
