I just put a 2.2 engine from a 97 sunfire auto into my 96 cavalier 5 speed. It now has no spark. I had to change the crank position sensor from the 96 into the 97 because connectors were different. Everything is pluged in but still no spark. Please Help!!

We just did the same engine swap and had to use the '96 crankcase position sensor because the '97 sensor did not fit the harness connector on our '96 Sunfire (2 prongs vs. 3). We also got no spark. So we put the '96 coils and whatever is underneath the coils (the computer, perhaps) on the '97 engine (no small task when the engine is already installed!), and it started right up. The parts on the three-bolt plate are not the same on the two engines. The part numbers are different. I hope you have long since solved the problem, but I just got onto this forum.

Now, if we can just solve the over-heating problem.
