My first question is about the transmission fluid, the manual says 4 1/10 quarts to fill up the pan. I fill it up with only three. Does anyone know if the escort se sport is just like the older escorts that holds 2.7 quarts???

My second question is, where is the horn? I have a problem with the horn, it does not sound, check the relay its ok, everything looks good, when I tried to locate the horn to see if that was the problem, I just couldnt find it.

Thanks.

Are you checking the level with the dipstick near the master cylinder? There are 2 different marks on the stick. The bottom two are for cold and the top 2 are for checking when hot (Car run for at least 20 miles). Read the level between the 2 notches on top. After warming it up park it on a level surface, set the parking brake and start the engine. While the engine is idling, depress the brake pedal and move the selector lever through all the gear ranges, beginning and ending in P. With the engine still idling, pull the dipstick from the tube wipe it clean and stick it in all the way and take it out and note the fluid level between the two top notches on the stick. You don't fill the pan to put in the tranny fluid. You put it in through the diipstick hole with a funnel. 4.1 quarts is the correct amount.

The horn is located behind the front bumper cover on the bumper and is attatched with 1 bolt. I am not sure on this, but I think the bumper cover has to come off to get to it.

Thanks for replying. I did all that, and I have driven the car for more than 20 miles now and the level is still over the marks with only 3 quarts. I was wondering if there could be anything that I did wrong when replacing the oil. The car runs well, I guess I will keep an eye on it.
I checked for the horn under the bumper, and could not find it, maybe I lost it and that's why it doesn't work :-), will check again to make sure. Thanks again.
