99' Dodge Ram Oil Pressure when Pullingidahonme 03-09-2006, 03:43 PM I have a 1999 Dodge Ram, V-8, 5.2L, manual Transmission, 92K miles. I am having a problem with the oil pressure, it goes to zero when I am pulling something. It does not happen all the time and can be cleared by pulling over, turning off the engine and letting it set for just a little while and than starting it again. It will than be ok for a while or it may just go to zero again after a few miles. I have no problem with the oil pressure when not pulling, it stays steady all the time, no fluctuations or anything. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Thanks tony36 03-09-2006, 08:41 PM Check your oil level, if you have a little too much, it will cause this problem. Had it happen to me, I was half a qt over and that happened, then I drained it and never had a problem since. If you can, tee it in with the factory gauge. This will let you know for sure if it is an engine problem or just a bad sensor/gauge. tony36 03-13-2006, 11:37 PM did you find out what the problem was? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
