meh, going to school has nothing to do with your intelligence or your chance of success, it's just to get a piece of paper to say that you have a good memory, i went through high school no problem, never studied once or did one bit of homework, but i got a photographic memory, i'd just sit in class, come test time, i'd remember everything the teacher said in class, and i'd get kick ass marks.

but in the real world, you go up the ladder depending on your intelligence, ambition, attitude, etc. not by what you did in high school.

if you cant, you failed before you started. If you don't have that diploma (or GED) than most places wont hire you.

You're right, he could be running something nasty under that hood...OR, he could be just another dumbass kid that thinks his mid 15 sec car is a friggin monster. Either way, there's no telling untill they actually race. The anticipation is killing me! Haha. :lol:

anyway, how the hell did this turn into a life study about high school drop outs? yes there are exceptions, but most people that drop out suck at life and go no where. end of story. and yes high school is easy, thats not the point at all. the point is someone that is gonna go somewhere in life is more likely to stay in school and go to college.

Welp, out of curiosity and one thing I must know. What mods did he have before he blew his engine? What mods did he have on the old one? I'm assuming if he bought a new motor for $500 or so, then it's another single cam (I'm almost 100% sure).

Thus if he did so, he may have had mods on his last motor, and moved those over. What mods he had, I don't know. But I can say I did the same similar thing. Had an ex vtec motor. Blew it, and bought another, slightly more hp, motor. Moved all my parts over, which were Camshaft, cam gears, pulley, intake, exhaust, and header. With that, I was good enough for a low 15, maybe high 14. Now, if he did so, then I'm guessing he's not mentioning the fact that he swapped those parts over. Thus, if he put another grand into that, then I'm sure he could have messed with the Hondata, maybe added some MSD ignition shit, and threw on the nitrous. I bet with that said and done, he'd be running 13's, mid at best.

I'm guessing here, but messing with the Hondata set up isn't exactly necessary with such mods. Plus the cost of nitrous alone is just as much as his cost for the engine. What shot is another thing. But, after all I've said here, the cost would be greater than what he said he spent. He's either a very good bluffer, or truth be told, he just lost $200 to you by running his mouth.

From one Honda guy to you, I can say that you have this in the bag. Especially with a race over a mile long! You've got no worries here. What I said here is possible, but he'd be a liar for telling you what he did. But as Poly has stated numerous times, run what ya brung. I'll say this as well, if his buddy got smoked by you for running his lips, I'm sure he'll get smoked too. I can't see an actual tuner, hanging out with a ricer like his probe buddy. Then again you never know. They could be setting you up for $200.

I can see it now, the probe dude loses for $100. Sets you up with his 12 sec Civic buddy, and BANG!! You just lost $200. Now you're out $200. Him and his buddy split the $200 and they go on to hustle someone else. Meh, I could be wrong. But just be cautious...good luck homes.

Civracer brings up a good point about the set-up scam thing. But it sounds like Bandit is ready to kick some ass. And I've seen that acceleration video of the TA and I don't think I've ever seen a Civic pin a speedo that fast. LOL

BTW, I did the same thing when my engine blew... switched over all my parts (same stuff as civ actually) only with stock a6 pistons. Honestly, I don't think drop out boy has much of a chance unless he has a snail he's not telling you about...
